Terms of service

These terms are the contract between you and PulseNotice for the website, dashboard, API, and Chrome extension. If you do not agree, do not create an account or run monitors. Monitoring is best-effort: we do not guarantee that every change on a page will be detected.

1. Agreement

By registering, signing in, installing the extension, or otherwise using PulseNotice, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you can bind that organization.

2. The service

PulseNotice lets you save a public URL and a goal in plain language. We periodically fetch that URL, extract facts (not a pixel diff of the whole page), and notify you when the goal is newly true. Optional selected text helps lock extraction onto a phrase you highlighted.

The service is provided on a best-effort basis. Websites can block automation, serve different HTML by geography or A/B test, require JavaScript, show CAPTCHAs, or change structure. We do not bypass access controls. Detection, latency, and delivery of email or webhooks are not guaranteed.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a contract under the law of Texas and the United States. You may not use the service if you are barred from doing so under U.S. export or sanctions rules.

4. Accounts

You need an email and a password of at least 10 characters, including upper and lower case, a number, and a symbol. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping the password confidential. The dashboard stores a session token in the browser until you sign out or close the tab. Notify us if you think the account was misused. We may refuse or reclaim usernames and disable accounts that violate these terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Cloud fetches identify as PulseNotice and are throttled. We may pause or delete monitors that cause abuse complaints or legal risk.

6. Monitors and target sites

You represent that you have a legitimate interest in watching each URL you save, and that using an unauthenticated fetch of that public page does not violate law or a contract that binds you. You are responsible for the goal text, selected text, and URLs. We may compile the goal into rules, including with an LLM on plans that include that, and we may score whether a candidate change is relevant.

HTTP fetch runs first. Playwright runs only when the HTML is insufficient and only on Pro+ or Team. Size and time limits apply. Evidence stored with a check is a bounded excerpt plus facts and fingerprints, not a promise that we archived the entire page.

Target-site operators may block our user agent. That is not a breach of these terms by PulseNotice. If a site’s terms forbid automated access, do not monitor it here.

7. Plans, billing, and cancellation

Current commercial plans (prices in US dollars, billed by Stripe):

Paid plans are subscriptions. Stripe charges the payment method you provide. Taxes may apply. You can cancel through billing; access continues until the end of the paid period unless Stripe or we state otherwise. After cancel or downgrade, monitor caps and features revert to the Free plan. We may pause extra monitors or skip Playwright when you are over the new cap. Fees already paid are not refunded except where required by law or where we choose to refund as a courtesy.

We may change prices or plan limits with notice on the pricing page and, for existing paid subscribers, a reasonable chance to cancel before the new rate applies to a renewal.

8. Notify webhooks

Pro+ and Team may register an HTTPS URL. We will POST alert payloads to it. You must keep that endpoint authenticable and available. Failed deliveries may be retried or dropped. Do not point the webhook at a system you do not control. Compromise of that URL is your risk.

9. Chrome extension

The extension is a convenience for capturing URL, title, and selected text. It does not grant PulseNotice extra rights to bypass site controls. You must install it only from a build you trust (unpacked developer load or a store listing we publish). Uninstalling the extension does not delete your cloud account or monitors.

10. PulseNotice content and your content

PulseNotice and its licensors own the product, branding, and documentation. You may not copy the service except as needed to use it. You keep rights in the URLs, goals, and selected text you submit. You grant us a worldwide license to host, process, and display that material solely to provide the service (checks, evidence, emails, webhooks, support).

If you mark alerts useful or not, you grant us the right to use that feedback to operate and improve relevance, without paying you.

11. Third-party services

Checkout and cards go through Stripe. Mail goes through our email provider. Some goals use an LLM provider. Their terms and outages are outside our control. Links on marketing pages to other sites are not endorsements.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PULSENOTICE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CHECKS WILL RUN ON TIME, THAT A GOAL WILL FIRE, THAT EMAIL OR WEBHOOKS WILL ARRIVE, OR THAT EXTRACTED FACTS ARE COMPLETE OR CORRECT. YOU USE ALERTS AT YOUR OWN RISK, INCLUDING TRADING, PROCUREMENT, TICKET, AND JOB DECISIONS.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PULSENOTICE AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) TWENTY U.S. DOLLARS ($20). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW SOME LIMITS; IN THOSE PLACES OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED.

14. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify PulseNotice and its operators against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your monitors, your target URLs, your webhook endpoint, your violation of these terms, or your violation of a third party’s rights or of law.

15. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and request account deletion through the contact form. We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach these terms, if we must do so for security or legal reasons, or if we discontinue the product. On termination, sections that should survive (including acceptable use, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) remain in effect.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, excluding conflict-of-law rules. You and PulseNotice agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any forum to protect the service. If you are a consumer in a place that forbids this choice of forum, that local mandatory law controls to the extent it applies.

17. Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change. If a change is material, we will post it on this page and, when reasonable, email the address on the account. Using the service after the new terms take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the service and cancel billing.
