Visualping
Looks different
A snapshot, then a diff. Right if you want a picture of any change.
Screenshot-diff tools fire when the page looks different. Selector tools fire when a watched region matches. PulseNotice fires when the goal you wrote is newly true.
Visualping
A snapshot, then a diff. Right if you want a picture of any change.
Distill
CSS, XPath, watched regions. Right if you want to own the box.
PulseNotice
A price under $1100, “in stock”, a job title, a named clause. One quiet email.
Scan this first. The long tables live on each alternative page.
| Topic | Visualping | Distill | PulseNotice |
|---|---|---|---|
| What fires an alert | The page looks different — screenshot or text diff. | A watched region or selector matches a condition. | The goal you wrote is newly true. |
| Noise | Banners and counters look like changes unless you crop or filter. | Dynamic regions you did not exclude will fire; you maintain the box. | Fingerprints hash prices and keywords. Unrelated chrome stays quiet. |
| Setup | Paste a URL, take a snapshot, pick an interval. | Pick elements, conditions, local vs cloud. Powerful, easy to overfit. | URL + a one-sentence goal. Optional selected text. |
| Login and CAPTCHA | Sells logged-in monitoring and related bypass features. | Historically supports more authenticated / complex setups. | Public URLs only. We do not log in, store origin cookies, or solve CAPTCHAs. |
| Evidence | Before/after screenshots and highlighted text. | Diffs and watched-text changes. | An excerpt plus extracted facts on the alert. |
Visualping is a strong, simple change detector: paste a URL, take a snapshot, get emailed when pixels or text move. They have a real Chrome Web Store listing and years of brand. If you need a before/after picture of the page, that is their category.
PulseNotice is a different job. You name the event in plain language. We extract facts and email you only when that condition is newly true — not when a cookie banner or visitor counter moves. AI is not an “is this important?” score on every poll: keyword and price goals compile to rules; a relevance filter can run after a candidate notify.
They sell logged-in monitoring. We do not. Public URLs only is a trust boundary, not a missing feature. Channels: they list Slack, Teams, SMS, and API on their grid. We email on every plan and offer an HTTPS webhook on Pro+ and Team. We will not advertise Slack or API keys until they ship.
Distill is the selector-heavy default: watched regions, regex, local checks while Chrome is open, cloud checks when you pay for 24/7. It is mature and powerful if you already think in CSS and XPath.
Teams land on PulseNotice when they are done babysitting a selector after the site ships a new class name. Setup is a sentence plus optional selected text. Selectors, if we have them, are capture hints that can self-heal — not the product. Checks always run in our cloud against the public URL; there is no “only while the laptop is open” mode.
Distill has historically covered more authenticated pages than we will. We stay public-URL only: no origin cookies, no CAPTCHA solve, no session stealing.
If you want a screenshot of any change, use Visualping. If you want to maintain selectors, use Distill. If you want one email when your condition becomes true on a public page, use us.
